What this is
A journey we build once a year, and host ourselves.
We build every journey ourselves, then travel it with you.
We choose a country, spend months in it, and open one journey to a small table of travellers. A small group journey with us means sixteen travellers at most, set dates, a finished route, and the same host from arrival to departure.
Who it is for
For people who would rather experience the journey than run it.
For people who would rather be on the journey than organising it.
Couples who have travelled widely and want a country understood rather than covered. Parents who would like their children to come home with something more than photographs. Sons and daughters sending their parents somewhere they can be properly looked after. And anyone perfectly capable of arranging all of it themselves who would rather spend the fortnight on the journey than on the arrangements.
The anatomy of a small group journey
Four things we hold to on every departure.
01 · Pace
Enough time is the whole point.
Some places give you everything in a day. Some take three nights to become legible. The afternoon with nothing written against it is there on purpose.
02 · Stay
The right hotel, in the right place, for this journey.
A riad inside the Fez medina, two nights on the dunes, and rooms that put you where the day is already happening. Position first, character second.
03 · Food
A journey should taste like somewhere.
The table worth crossing a city for, the family kitchen with six covers, the long lunch that runs late. Some evenings are left open. Vegetarian, vegan, Jain, gluten-free and every allergy reaches the kitchens weeks before you land.
04 · Access
Being few is what gets you invited in.
A private house you enter as a guest of the family who live in it. An atelier with six seats. A restaurant with four tables, one of them yours. Our host takes you through all of it, arrival to departure.
